Week 14- Transition
Change is a normal part of life and can provide opportunities for children to develop their resilience. Transition is an important aspect of preparing children for change.
This year transition will be a little different but it will still happen. On Thursday 3rd September, we are looking forward to welcoming back all of our children. Due to the abrupt closure of schools to the vast majority of our children on Friday 20th March, we feel it is in the best interests of the children to have the opportunity to return to both their current teacher and classroom for the first day of school in September and then familiarise themselves with their new classroom on the second day. This will enable us to provide the children with both the closure and a celebration of the end of one year and effectively prepare them for the start of the new one with their new teacher. Our children will therefore be able to go through the normal transition process that would have taken place if school had been open to all children during this Covid-19 period.
Here you will find some transition activities which can be done at home during the summer to help prepare the children ready for September.
