Personal, Social, Health & Economic Education (PSHE)
I'm Holly Phipps and I lead learning in PSHE education at The Vaynor.
At The Vaynor, we have developed a PSHE and relationships curriculum which is surrounded by the use of discussion to allow children to have meaningful conversations with those around them. This gives them the opportunity to share opinions and ideas, whilst also carefully listening to those of others and spotting similarities and differences. They establish the means to listen with empathy, especially when talking about more difficult topics within the PSHE curriculum. Alongside this, the children have many opportunities to ask questions about any new concepts to further embed their understanding and knowledge of the ideas being explored. PSHE tackles many concepts linked to the outside world, so we equip children with strategies that they will be able to draw upon way beyond school life to help keep them safe and become members of the community.
